Joseph Jerome Austin was born September 2, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio and lived until May 4, 2022.
He resided in the state of Ohio all of his life with Columbus being his home. He attended the Columbus Public School System. His work life was various labor positions, plumbing and warehouseman. He was talented at fixing things.
He enjoyed and was gifted at playing the bass guitar wherever he could.
He is preceded in death by his mother; Nina M. Cody, brothers; James S. Craft, Thomas V. Craft and William C. Cody.
He is survived by his children; Joseph Middlebrooks, Shanya Fortune and Alex Middlebrooks, sisters; Robin M. Cody and Cecelia L. Jacobs, brothers; John C. Austin and Garry H. Austin, grandchildren; Aleisha Fortune and Joenyia Middlebrooks, along with a host of family members and friends.
Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, May 26, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
