Juandell Turner Parham was born in Lando Mines, West Virginia on October 18, 1935 to Samuel and Amelia Turner. She attended Lando Mines Elementary School and graduated from Liberty High School. After high school graduation she moved to Columbus, Ohio to seek employment.
After moving to Columbus, Ohio she found employment at Tyler’s Drug Store on the famed Mount Vernon Avenue. She worked many years at Tyler’s while completing Business and Data Entry School. After completing and obtaining Data Entry Certification she was employed by the State of Ohio in Data Entry and Mental Health. She worked 35 years as a Supervisor in the Mental Health/Data Entry Departments before retiring. She loved to stay active and busy. Shortly after retirement she obtained her Associate of Applied Science in Mental Health, Chemical Dependency, and Mental Retardation. She worked several years in the field of Social Work helping many. Once she finished that season she continued doing work to assist others. She worked many years as an Activities Director in various Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities. In addition, she worked several additional years at the YWCA After School Program assisting children with homework and activities.
Juandell accepted the Lord Jesus Christ early in life. She was a faithful and longtime member of Sts. Augustine and Gabriel Church. She loved to read, travel, and shop. She loved sports, especially basketball and football, and was an avid Ohio State football fan. She liked to make friends wherever she went. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a listening ear, helping hand, and sounding board to many. She had a caring heart and was full of unconditional love.
Juandell is preceded in death by her father and mother Samuel and Amelia Turner; brothers, O.D. Turner, Eugene Turner, Samuel Turner, and Theodore Turner, Sr.; sisters, Thelma Davis, Ethel Turner, Regina Lacy, and Naomi Gordon.
Juandell leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Monica (Robert) Smith; grandsons, Bryce Smith and Kenji Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and dear friends. She was greatly loved and will be truly missed. She has gone home to be with the Lord and unite with her parents, sisters, and brothers. What a reunion that shall be!

Private Funeral Service 10:00am Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Saints Augustine & Gabriel Catholic Church.
Entombment at Union Cemetery Association.
Masks are required for all services.

Our condolences go out to those near and dear to Aunt Juandell. May God be with you at this time. She will surely be missed. We love you! Steve Turner and family.
May God be with the entire family that loved Juandell, especially her daughter Monica and her grandsons and son in law. Ms. Parham was such a beautiful soul, you could feel it and see it in her eyes and smile. Heaven has gained another angel. She will be missed by so many. Until we meet again, Ms. Parham.
R.I.H Cousin Aunt Big Juandell! My Prayers for you Monica And Family! A mother is with us always, first in her lifetime, then forever in our memory! I know right now it seems like this pain will never leave and it won’t. God will just make it a little easier to bear in time

Losing your mom is one of the hardest times you can go through, and we know there is very little we can say that will help or offer much comfort, but we wanted to reach out and pass along our condolence.

I’m truly sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Juandell was a great friend and will be truly missed. Monica, may our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Juandell. My prayers to the family. She always had a smile on her face. Now her home is in heaven with her Savior.

Aunt Juandell greeted me each every time with a beautiful smile, kind words and gentle hug. I am so grateful to have known her and her love. She will be missed dearly.
To the Daughter and Family of Ms. Juandell, my Mother Emma Girdy and I were very saddened to hear of her passing. Mom had been calling her and wondered why she hadn’t returned her calls as she always did. We send our sincere condolences and may The Lord comfort and keep you all during this time.
Though I did not know her well and it was long ago, Ms. Parham was always so genuinely kind. Her warmth to a child and gentle nature put me at ease. Her smile brightened any day. To Monica and and all family and friends, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m grateful to have met her and blessed that Ms. P is watching over us all now.
