Momma Fomby taught us this poem and made us recite it in 10th grade English class. I have been able to do so the past 25 years.. She was a great educator and a great women. My condolences to the family.

I didn’t know Ms Fomby personally, but knew of her through her children who I went to school with. She seemed like a beautiful graceful spirit and I know she will be missed.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family and will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts as you go through this transition. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Mrs. Fomby was a caring, loving Teacher, who treated her students as if we were her own children. She was a Teacher that cared about her students, getting good grades and having a good education. Mrs Fomby was always willing to help, whoever needed it. If she caught you in the halls after the bell rung, she would ask you, “where are you suppose to be, and do you have a hall pass”.
Mrs Fomby will be missed, but never forgotten.
On February 22, 2019. God looked down from Heaven and told Mrs. Fomby, it was time for her to go, her work here on earth had been completed, heaven is where she is needed. Rest peacefully Mrs.Fomby, you was and will forever be Loved, by Family, Friends and all your Students from Central High School!!!

Just heard the news about Ms. Fomby’s passing. She taught my class at Central High School. She was always concerned about her students. She carried herself so gracefully, I learned so much by her example. I am so sorry for your loss. She made such a impact on myself and several others. Prayers of comfort for your family.
