Julia Ann Gossett, affectionately known as Judy, was born July 4, 1953 in Columbus Ohio to Lillie Mae and Charles Leon Gossett.

Judy attended Columbus Public Schools. After leaving Marion Franklin High School, she was employed at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Square.

Judy was a loving mother to her lovely children. She loved to have a good time, reading, and jamming to her good music. As time went on Judy began to fellowship with World Harvest Church where she was a faithful member. While yet having a good life, Judy met the love of her life, Charles Rivers to which they shared many wonderful memories.

Judy transitioned from her temporary earthly residence on August 22, 2020 to her permanent residence.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Charles Gossett; sister, Lenna (Raymond) Solomon and Charlotte (Larry) Leigh; granddaughter, Tonqua Thomas; and a host uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Judy leaves to cherish her memory, her companion of many years, Charles Rivers; loving children, Latalsha (Bryan) Butts, Kamika (Michael) Sharp, Clarence (Kenyatta) Gossett, Lakisha (Tyrone) Gossett, and Kiara (Kawon) Gossett; 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Vivian and Delores Gossett and Mary (Antwann) Smith; brother, James (Dwaun), Geno (Renee), and Russell (Monica) Gossett; aunt, Deborah Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews and many cousins the she loved dearly.

Public Visitation 9-10:00am Friday, September 4, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

Family, my heart go out to you all. Family is everything and not able but and kiss you make it even harder. Know that I love you and will continue to lift up my family in prayer. When Judy and I would see one another we rush to each other with our arms out to hold one another we always did growing up. Reunion won’t be the same.
