Julius Cecil Lane Jr.

On Saturday, October 27, 2018, Julius Cecil Lane, Jr., 83, succumbed to can-cer at the Kobacker House, with his granddaughter and great grandson by his side. He was a man of God who was selfless and caring. Born in Dallas, Texas on March 24, 1935, he grew up attending Jenkins Chapel A.M.E. Church with his family. After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army, was honorably discharged and settled in Cleveland, OH where he met and married the love of his life, Edie Lane.

Cecil joined Zion Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor George O. Stewart where he was baptized and was a Deacon in training. He eventually moved his family to Columbus, Ohio and joined Triedstone Bap-tist Church under the leadership of Bishop Jerome H. Ross, Sr. and served on the Deacon board.

He retired from St. Vincent Family Center. During his stay in the hospital the nurses talked about how he prayed for his family and sang church songs.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother Julius Cecil Lane, Sr. and Jimmie Lane, and his grandchildren, Cartharo Baker, Jr., Christopher L. Lane, Travis D. Lane, and Davie Ray Lane,Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, loving and devoted wife Edie L. Lane, brother, Quenist (Sandra) Lane, Dallas, TX, sister, Pastor Janetta Britton, Dallas, TX, six children, daughters, Arleathia Lane Radcliffe (caregiver), Columbus, OH, Marce Ella Lane, Pheonix, AZ, sons, Lateef K. (Sandy) Fahari, Thailand, Karl Lane, Orlando, FL, Davie Ray (Salley) Lane, Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren, Chenessa Smith, Cori (Baker) Sharpless, Clarence Baker, Janelise Lane, Dre Theatt, Davie R. Lane III, Davian R. Lane, Dayshawn R. Lane, great grandchildren, Isaiah Giles II and Briana Sharpless. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Saturday November 10, 2018 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST 5456 E. Livingston Ave. 

Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.
