If only I could see that smile of yours. I am truly grateful for the mini times we did have together (few in number but mighty). If only we could have had more of those times. When you visited us for the summer one year you not only brought happiness to me but also my children, mom, and other family. You bonded with my best friend as if y’all knew each other for years. Genuine heart, smile, and love. I regret constantly putting off trips to visit you as if time is on our side. But if only!!! I love you Ken!!! Rest well big brother.

You always think there will be more time. But God’s timing isn’t our timing….
I will truly miss Ken. I will miss how whenever he smiles and laughs, there is always a mischievous little twinkle in his eyes. I’ll miss the raspiness of his voice. I’ll miss his super long eyelashes that curl up on the ends, that many of us women have to pay good money for. I’ll miss his heart and willingness to help someone in need. I’ll miss hm having to look good at all times. Matching whenever he left the house and would go home and change if his outfit got a speck of dirt on it. I’ll miss sitting on the front porch playing all the good blues tunes. I’ll miss debating with him about Ohio State and hearing him say – “Y’all ain’t never been nothing (I’m definitely paraphrasing here!), y’all ain’t gone be nothing, and y’all ain’t nothing now!” Simply put, I’ll miss my friend. 20 years just wasn’t enough time. Miss Helen, I am so sorry. Ken loved his family. He was devoted to his nieces and nephews. I know he leaves a void in all your hearts. Praying God comfort you all and give you peace on today and all the days ahead. The service was a beautiful tribute to a soul as irreplaceable as Ken. And though it might pain me to say, in honor of Ken, on this one day, I’ll go ahead and say it, “ROLL TIDE!”

I am just finding this out and I am devastated. My boys loved you and looked up to you…they loved attempting to whoop you in Mortal Kombat but nobody could beat you and we knew it but we still tried. I will miss you buddy, I remember when you got your car you drove so far to visit us, we always cracked jokes and had a blast. You will be missed friend, I love you..rest well and dap it up with my sister up there for me, until later……
