Kevin Craig Kenley was born on July 26, 1959 to Lee and Gloria Kenley in Columbus, Ohio. Kevin passed away on November 26, 2022. Kevin was a graduate of Mifflin High School in 1978 and received a football scholarship to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He proudly served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Kevin worked at Doctor’s Hospital North and for the last 25 years, was the General Manager of his family business, the Kenley Konnection Travel and Tour Agency. As the general manager, he was a member of the National Travel Association, American Bus Association and the African American Motorcoach Council. Kevin was an avid traveler. He was designated as a Carnival Diamond Cruiser who loved Caribbean traveling. Kevin also managed several contracts throughout his career at the Kenley Konnection, including the Columbus Board of Education and the State of Ohio.
Kevin was a proud alumnus of the Indiana University Hoosier football team and played in the 1979 (San Diego) Holiday Bowl. Later, he coached Columbus Raiders football team for six seasons. Kevin was an avid supporter of his sons and nephews sporting events.
Kevin loved giving back to his community. He served as a Taste for FACE chef for many years. Kevin was the Northeast Area Commissioner and Treasurer representing the Willow Springs Neighborhood Association. He also served as the Co-chair of the Northeast Zoning Commission since 2004.
Kevin loved spending time with his family and adored his granddaughter, Reyna. Kevin cherished nature, gardening, home improvements, college football, cooking, traveling and fishing with his uncle David. As a friend to everyone, Kevin’s happiness was seeing others happy.
Kevin is preceded in death by his father; Lee William Kenley Sr; Grandmothers; Clara Kenley and Hazel Cobb; Mother and Father-In-Law; Eva Kate and William Boykin Sr; Brother; Michael Israel “Stevie Kenley”; Sister-in-Law; Terese Boykin.
Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 33 years; Bernice Michele Kenley; beloved sons; Denzel and Ezra Kenley; Granddaughter; Reyna; Mother; Gloria Kenley; Brother; Lee (Gwen) Kenley, Jr; Sisters; Vinsetta Montgomery, Eboni Brown, and Traylene (Charles) Hines; Special Nephews and Nieces; Anthony and Travis Campbell, Michael Gause, Amber (Dwayne) Bazemore and Danielle Hines; Special cousin; Minister Anthony McSwain and numerous other family members, friends and travel partners that held a special place in his heart.

I met Kevin and his Family traveling with Kenley Konnection for the past 10 years and had nothing but fun and good times on the yearly Ebony at Sea cruises he coordinates, I’m so glad I decided at the last minute to go on this years cruise, it was always a great time and the memories will remain in my heart of the trips I’ve taken with you, Bernice, Ms Glo, Trayline and Vinsetta. Fairwell good and Faithful Servant may you rest in God’s Arms.

When I met the two of you , you were practically Newlyweds. A relationship that has and will not ever end my Sister. We did get a chance to speak in 2022 and I’m so thankful it was nothing for me to put him on assignment or seek his advice. Kevin is my nephew and we actually grew up together because I was only two years older than him. Even as a child he was the perfect gentleman and great human being. When God created Kevin He added everything good and kind. His personality, smile, kindness, thoughtfulness, integrity, compassion, patience and love has touched so many and will continue to live in his sons and grand daughter. I will truly miss my nephew. Kevin is my nephew, but since we were only two years apart we grew up together. He is one of the kindest, honorable, compassionate and loving people I have ever known. On Earth he was an angel to so many and in heaven he will be our special angel. He will forever live in my heart.

Kevin and the rest of the wonderful family welcomed us in to the family like we were family from the get go when Vinsetta and I became neighbors, and it’s been this way ever since! It was a very sad day when Vinsetta called me with the news. But not long after the shock, I couldn’t help but smile and replay the beautiful memories, and the ones that warmed my heart the most was the beautiful love he showed outwardly to his wife, kids, Mom, Dad, Sisters, and his entire family! My sincere and deepest sympathy to the Kenley family. I grew up with Kevin on Argyle Drive (A D), I have such great memories growing up on Argyle and Kevin was a key member of the Argyle Drive kids. Those of us who grew up there remained friends throughout our lives, even though we may have lost contact over the years. It was alway great to reconnect and talk about the A D days. Thank you Kevin for reconnecting, keeping me updated on you, your family, and the business. I will always, smile and remember you as one of the reasons I loved growing up on Argyle. I met Kevin while serving on the Northeast Area Commission. He was a great teacher in getting me familiar with how the Commission operates. He also coordinated trips for myself. Our deep condolences goes out to the entire family of Kevin Kenley. Prayers are being sent your way, Wow, it’s hard to believe that we are losing so many people at a rapid rate. Growing up my brother Ricky Searcy known as “#sauce meat” hung down at y’all’s house. Kevin was such a pleasure to know growing up and will be missed by all who knew him from Argyle Dr. family!
