Kevin Lamont Cousar

IMG 3033

Kevin “Big Kev” Lamont Cousar, age 61, was born on October 8, 1960 and passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Big Kev was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and was educated in the Columbus Public School System at East High School. He worked at the Hyatt Regency for over 20 years before working at Grant Medical Center.

He was a great father and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his daughters as he loved them both! Kevin was a devoted grandfather and loved spending quality time with them. Big Kev enjoyed watching sports, especially his Ohio State Buckeyes, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Lakers.

He loved socializing with his family and friends. Many knew him for being a laid back, gentle giant, with a huge caring heart. If you knew him, and had him for a friend, he wasn’t just a friend for the word, he was a friend indeed.

Kevin was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Cousar, and grandparents Talmadge and Martha “Bettie” Cousar.

Kevin was survived by his wife Rosetta Cousar, daughters Erika (Nelson) Hunter and Raven (Mario Davis) Cousar, brother Eric Cousar, 5 grandchildren Kaveon Ross, Saniyah Crump, Nelson Hunter III, Malakhi Davis, Major Davis, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation 4:00 PM and Memorial Service 5:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.).

Uncle Kevin was the sweetest and always treated me kindly. He will be sorely missed. Sending you love Erika and Raven. You have family who love you both and support you. I know it seems hard right now. Take it from me. Losing my mom was the hardest! You will never get over it but every day you will find a little more of what your new normal is. Love you both!
