King James Jr was 87 years old, born November 17, 1933 in Pickens, Mississippi, and went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2021.

King worked for Columbus City Water Division for 25 years, and he also owned his own business, Parnell Pluming. He did main line and water line breaks. He was a faithful member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved fishing and riding his bike. He also loved ice cream and sweet potato pie.

He is preceded in death by his father King James Sr.; mother, Gracie James; sisters, Dorothy Green, Juanita Smith, and Catherine Williams; brother, Elmore James; son, Darle James; and step-daughter, Melaine Thomas Smith Parnell.

King is survived by his wife, Mattie M. James; son, Jeffrey James of Pickens Mississippi; step-sons, William (Mary) Parnell, Michael Parnell, and Harold Parnell; step-daughter, Debra (Vincent) Neely; sisters, Robbie Mae Travis of Memphis, Tennessee, Otis Lee Sly of Lexington, Mississippi, and Clara (Allen) Sugg of Columbus, Ohio; Brandeā€™n Neely Hawkin, Vincent L Neely III, whom he raised as his own. 15 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

 

King will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
