SweatteLarry

Larry Dean Sweatte was born the third child of sixteen in Raliegh, North Carolina on July 18, 1962 to Dr. Appolles and Cornelia (connie) Sweatte. He attended Rahway High school in Rahway, NJ and made his way through life detailing cars and working in warehouses and restaurants. While still a young man, he entered into Holy Matrimony with Tracy Phipps of Rahway, NJ where over the course of their marriage they gave birth to three children: Tiara Phipps, Latisha and Dariece Sweatte. Lashaun and Edward (Mookie) Phipps are the eldest children that were also a part of Tracy and Larry’s family unit.

Larry grew up in the state of New Jersey and migrated to Beckley, W.VA in his young adult years to start his family. He lived in New York for a moment with his second wife Shalana. Larry moved from W. VA to Columbus, Ohio approximately two years ago.

Although Larry struggled with various facets of life, he was God fearing and took his calling to preach very serious. Larry loved his children, grandchildren, siblings, family and friends with all of his heart. He had a very friendly and kind spirit which he used to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to whomever would listen. Larry was a member of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church which is part of the Free and Independent Movement; he was very fond and dedicated to his church.

Larry is proceeded in death by his mother Connie, his three brothers, Appolles, jr. (Timmy), Joel Sweatte and Charles (Dink) S, and his daughter, Alencia Sweatte.

Condolence from Andrew Aycock on June 15th, 2019 5:18 pm

Hello,
My name is Andrew and I have been a close friend of Larry’s for over a year in the laurels. I want everyone to know how much he meant to everyone here. He made us all laugh, smile, and he was the only friend I’ve had in a long while being in the nursing home. I love him, he was pretty much a brother to me. I’ll never forget him. If a legacy of a man’s life is measured by the lives he’s touched and how much he is loved then a big part of Larry will live on in all of us
