Laura Mildred Lee, Age 85 passed away on June 21, 2021 at OSU Main Hospital in Columbus Ohio. She was born June 3rd, 1936 in Brownsville Tennessee to Emma and Earnest Tyus.

Laura grew up in Brownsville, Tennessee and graduated from Carver High School and attended college at Lane College.

Laura was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, musician, choir director, & seamstress. She loved being around her family and encouraging them to achieve their goals in the music industry. She especially enjoyed her two children, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and anyone who was in her family circle.

Laura’s hobbies were playing the piano, watching Family Feud, Everybody Loves Raymond, Price is Right, working with choirs and male chorus and anyone interested in singing for the Lord. She also enjoyed attending bingo halls, sewing, going out to eat, playing cards (Tonk, Skipbo), checkers and just having family and friends in her presence laughing and having a good time.

Laura was diagnosed with Covid in December 2020 and endured a lot of pain and suffering as a result. She fought a good fight for six months and never complained about her diagnosis or condition. Now all her suffering is gone; and she is finally at rest.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Emma and Earnest Tyus and 10 of her 12 siblings.

Laura leaves to cherish her memory, two children (Brenda and Victor), “Special Niece” Marilyn Craig, Grandchildren (Bianca/Devin, Mark/Jazenne, Jojo, Isaiah), Great Grandchildren (Christian, Vanessa, Alayna, Markie, Devin, Leo); one brother, Bishop Squire Tyus; one sister, Mary Ruth Spearman and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends as well as her church family.
