Lorenzo Sharp main photo

Mr. Lorenzo James Sharp, 60, transitioned on 21 September 2020. Lorenzo was born on January 28, 1960 in Selma, Alabama to Eddie Sharp Sr. and Daisy Lou Coker Sharp. He was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School and a member of New Birth Christian Ministries.

Those of you who knew Lorenzo (affectionately known as Ren) knew he was an avid sports fan and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes. Lorenzo took great pleasure in taunting his Michigan family every year when football season rolled around with the O-H-I-O roll call. You were sure to get many text messages on game day especially when his beloved Buckeye’s scored that touchdown!

Lorenzo loved his family and he took great pride in the accomplishments of his children Raymond & Candace Sharp. Lorenzo believed in hard work and he never let the grass grow under his feet. He was a long time Realtor with RE/MAX and was recognized as a member of the $100,000,000 sales club. He was also property manager and was employed with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department as a Facility Security Officer before he became ill.

About four years ago, Lorenzo reconnected with his first love, Ms. Janet (Campbell) Holloman, where they met at the United Skates of America and reconnected 36 years later. They were engaged to be married before his Cancer diagnosis, and she stood by his side until he took his last breath. We are forever grateful to her for the love that she gave our brother. Lorenzo would want us to acknowledge his very special friend, Kevin Spangler, who he loved as a brother, and his first cousin, Cathy Lewis whom he cherished. To all the Doctors and Nurses at Riverside Methodist Hospital who cared for our brother, we thank you for the loving and professional way you cared for him. Last, but not least Ruth Smith whom he loved like a mom.

Before Lorenzo transitioned from this life, he made sure to put his affairs in order. He said he lived a good life and was able to send both his kids off to college. He said he was at peace because he had a relationship with God, and he knew where he was going. Rest well Lorenzo, your brothers, sisters, brother & sister in law, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and work family will miss you.

Lorenzo is survived by son, Raymond Sharp; daughter, Candace Sharp; sisters, Edwina Sharp, and Tracy (Stanley) Parton; brothers, Joshua (Mary) Davis, Eddie Sharp Jr., (LaRona), Leo (Dee) Sharp Sr., and his devoted fiancée Janet Holloman.

Visitation 9:00 AM and PRIVATE Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, September 26, 2020 at New Birth Christian Ministries, 3475 Refuge Rd.

A MASK IS MANDATORY.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

You were more than just a friend…I will never have another “Work Pops”!!! You will always be remembered as the most humble hard worker that I have ever known. During the many hours spent together you made it a point to let it be known the love that you had for your children, family, and loved ones. You never hesitated to tell us just how special Ms. Janet was to you too… and in your last days her dedication, compassion, and the love she has for you was displayed in such a manner that I know God is going to bless her beyond measure. To say we will miss you is an understatement, but may every moment that was spent with you count as a memory. You are free from all pain and suffering of this world, which means you are present with the Lord. WELL DONE MY FRIEND…WELL DONE!!! This is not a goodbye, for we shall see you later.

To the Family: THANK YOU for sharing such a wonderful human being with our FCSO work family, and know that we love you for allowing him to love us!!! Never did he turn down a call for duty, and not once did he ever complain. WE LOVE YOU, WE ARE PRAYING FOR YOU, AND ON THE CLOUDY DAYS LOOK TO THE SKY AND REMAIN #LORENZOSTRONG

To The Entire Sharp Family

I just learned of Lorenzo (Ren’s) passing a few minutes ago and I am
in total shock. I first met Ren when I was 16 and he was 20 so I’ve
known him for about 40 yrs! There are so many fun / fond memories
of him that are flooding my mind right now… He loved to laugh
and was an easy personality to be around. Of the many great
qualities he had, being a hard working person who always strived
for the best stands out. He always spoke highly of his family,
especially his kids — Raymond and Candace. I am so sorry that
he left this life so soon! He will be greatly missed by us
and all who were blessed to have known him. May God comfort
you at this difficult time and may you all hold fast to the wonderful
memories of him in your hearts

Sincerely Cook, Harper and Thompson families

This breaks my heart. Lorenzo was a kind, sincere and funny person. When his son Raymond was very young, I would babysit for Lorenzo while he went to show homes. He was always so grateful and you could just see the love for his son and the bond they had. Every time I saw Lorenzo he was in a good mood and always positive. Heaven gained another angel.

My wife Pat and I were privileged to have Lorenzo as an agent at Remax Associates for several years. Later on he always took the time to come over and say hello at realtor events and let us know how Raymond and Candice were doing. He beamed with pride when describing Raymond’s antics as Brutus. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Raymond, Candice and Janet at this difficult time.

Condolence from Marshell Lambright on September 25th, 2020 4:47 pm

Lorenzo was one of my best friends. We go all the way back to Rockwell days. We talked about any and everything. I was there with the start up of Movie Station Video. It was a big success! Everything Lorenzo got involved with, he was successful at. I can hear his voice saying my name. He was the only person that got away with calling me Marsh oppose to Marshell. My deepest and sincerest condolences to the family. I will miss my dear friend. A lot of really good memories. Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
Your friend forever, Marshell

Condolence from Thomas Ceckitti on September 28th, 2020 9:41 am

33 years ago Lorenzo gave me my first job I ever had. I was 15 and I worked for him at the video rental store he opened in my neighborhood. He was my first impression of a boss, and a business man, and is still up on the top of the list for both in my experience. He was always fair and understanding, and at the same time taught us so much on how to do things the right way.
He always had a smile on his face, and treated us all like family.
He was a kind and good man. He will be missed.
