Lottie G. Smith

Lottie Smith Funeral Screen 2

Lottie Gladiola Smith, 74, entered into rest on Friday December 4, 2020, at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital. Lottie was born in Salisbury, Maryland on December 5th, 1945, the daughter
of late Lottie Mae Wright and James Edward Curtis Sr.

She attended school in Salisbury, Maryland where she graduated from Salisbury High School. She married the late Paul Drakeford and had one daughter (Pamela) and one son (Michael).
She married again to the late Jessie Smith and had one son (Brian) and one daughter (Jessica). They relocated from Syracuse, New York to Columbus, Ohio.

She was a devoted member of Power & Glory Ministries where she served on the usher board and dance team.

Lottie worked in retail management until she retired. She then joined Mobile shortly after, where she worked until her passing. Lottie enjoyed simple things like coloring (she taught all her children and a few grandchildren the proper way to color. Outline first and then color the rest of the picture). She loved to do word search, play solitaire, flower arrangements and crochet. She even began to go fishing this year. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and made sure to bring the family together every Christmas Eve. Lottie also loved to travel and was able to check off a cruise trip to the Bahamas and a trip to New Orleans off of her bucket list.

Her memories will be treasured by: her two sons, Michael (Sedra) Drakeford and Brian Smith, two daughters, Pamela Drakeford and Jessica Smith Powell, 17 grandchildren and 24 great
grandchildren. Her dear friends: Rev. Doctor Johannes J. Christian, Althea Lyles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Lottie was preceded in death by: (brother) James E. Curtis Jr., (sisters) Blanche Mae Waters, Alice G. Ballard, Betty Ann Stevens, Flossie Dozier, (mother) Lottie Mae Wright, (father)
James E. Curtis Sr., (husband) Jessie Smith, (grandson) Dominic Gaines, (daughter-in-law) Sedra Drakeford, (special friend) Choreaston Jean Curtis-Rogers, as well as her first husband Paul
Drakeford Sr.
