Lula Mae Walton was born on October 12,1932 in Jones, Alabama to the late Jackson “Jack” and Essie Lou Elder.

Lula is carried in spirit by Triedstone Baptist Church where she was a member. She moved to West Virginia where she married Earnest Walton and had 10 children. “Granny” was her nick name; she loved to go to bingo, play cards, take bus trips and would frequently visit the casinos and the internet cafes.  She loved all her children and was always proud to say “I have 10 children”.  Everyone loved Granny’s food she sold dinners all over Columbus.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Walton; son, Jimmy Lee Walton; daughter, Wanda Jean Walton; grandson, Craig Anthony Walton and beloved friend, Charles Pleasant.

Lula’s (Granny’s) memories will forever be cherished by her sons, Earnest Walton Jr and Frankie (Lisa) Walton; daughters, Diane Walton, Linda Walton, Loretta Walton Kidd, Lola (Frankie) Edwards, Martha (Peter) Dixon and Susan (Solomon) Ray; 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, dear friend Ms. Eva Ragland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lula (Granny) will forever be missed by her children and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be especially missed by those who had the pleasure of loving her and being loved by her.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, 858 E. 3rd Ave. Mask and Social Distancing are required. Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
