Maggie Lee Baylis, age 90. Was born May 7, 1930 in Monticello, Mississippi to Lovie Mae Magee and Robert Bridges.

She attended and graduated from Lawrence County School. She moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1952 where she resided until 2005. In 2005 she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she resided until she departed this world November 7, 2020 at the OSU Hospital.

Growing up in Monticello, she attended the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of a Quartet and served on the Junior Usher Board. She was a member of Beecher Congregational Church and later joined Christian Bible Fellowship Baptist Church both in New Orleans, LA. She served on the Usher Board at both churches. It was during this she started bible class in her home. She accepted salvation at an early age and in 1990 she received the holy ghost.

In 2007 she joined The Higher Ground AAA, where she was baptized in the name of Jesus. She remained a member and mother of the church until her death. She was delighted to have been shepherd by the honorable Dr. Bishop Sherman S. Watkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband’s Lee A. Baylis and James Harris, her mother; Lovie Mae Maggie, her father Robert Bridges, and her two-year old son; Gregory Baylis.

She leaves to mourn her passing nine children: Donald A. Bracknell, Berkshire, England; Cheryl (Otis) Sanders, Columbus, Oh; Irma Jean, New Orleans, La; Reginald (Rhonda), New Orleans, La; Jennifer, New Orleans, La; Janet, Columbus, Oh; James, Columbus, Oh; Charles, Columbus, Oh; Baryl, Columbus, Oh; twenty grand children: Gerald, Robert, Regina, Donnie, Gregory, Christopher, Nickie, Michael, Kizzy, Lashanna, Tonio, Tamika, Daniel, James, Mia, Jaron, Baryl, Brandy, Megan Aaron; twenty-six great grands: Victoria, Nicholas, Mariah, Zavier, Isaiah, Zemaja, Christopher, Ceyan, Robert, Kallie, Zoriah, Zianna, Xaviar, Chris, Tyler, Christian, Rashad, Joey, Helen, Sienna Rose, Dexter, Dante, Levii, Alacia, Rimia, Anthony; three great-great grands: Vanessa, Marlee and Violet May Elianna, Five granddaughter-in-laws, Mayra, LaShenna, Kim, Tawanka and Amy. Three grandson-in-laws, Alpha, James, Daniel. She leaves to mourn her passing a host of relatives and friends. Special cousin, Linda Faye; friends: Mrs. Charlene, Ms. Linnie Allen, Ms. Jackie Brown, Mrs. Priscilla, Ms. Octavia Jackson, Ezilla Sutton and Lonnie Pitt.
Maggie will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

PRIVATE Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, November 20, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

A MASK IS MANDATORY.

Interment at Union Cemetery Association.
