Ma’Khia Zhi’Riana Ty’Lea Bryant, age 16. Sunrise September 29, 2004 and Sunset April 20, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio.
Ma’Khia attended Independence High School as an 11th grade student. She was currently on the honor roll. Making Tik Tok Videos doing her hair was her favorite past time. She enjoyed cooking and music.
Ma’Khia had a great sense of humor; always wanted to make everyone laugh. She was a loving teenager with a big heart, and she loved her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Raymond Underwood; great grandmother, Mary Miller and great grandfather Donald Bryant.
Ma’Khia is survived by her parents, Paula Bryant and Myron Hammonds; sisters, Shanise Washington, Janiah Bryant and Azariah Bryant; brothers, Khalil Bryant, ShyQuan Washington, Myron Hammonds, JaShawn Morris and Marion Hammonds; special nephew, Kyale Broomfield; grandmother, Jeanene Hammonds of Columbus, Ohio, Debra Wilcox of Mansfield, Ohio; great grandmother, Ila Bryant of Mansfield, Ohio; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

I’m one of Ma’Khia’s former middle school teachers. Ma’Khia was such a pleasure to work with. She was a very appreciative student, who enjoyed receiving one to one attention. Her presence and sweat personality lit up any room she entered. I remember Ma’Khia as someone who really enjoyed learning and being willing to help others in any way she could. Ma’Khia was such a sweat heart, who always kept a smile on her face. She will definitely be missed! My deepest condolences to the Bryant family. May the Lord of all grace comfort and strengthen the Bryant family with a tangible touch of his love and presence in your time of bereavement.
