Marcus Lamont Houston, sunrise June 8, 1965 and departed this life peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 3, 2017. Marcus leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, his wife, Edda. Together they raised their children, Dr. Maria N. Houston and Marcus L. Houston.
Marcus is also survived by his loving mother, Ennis Ann Houston; his brother, Dale (Stephanie) Houston; and sister, LaWonda Y. Houston; mother-in-law, Katherine Smith; special beloved aunts, Barbara Mosley-Payton and Nina Houston; uncle, Steve Mosley; sister-in-laws, Aloma (Charles) Taylor and Michelle (Al) Alford, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marcus accepted Christ at an early age and he is now resting in the arms of the Lord where he will see his father, Johnny Houston and father-in-law, Edward Smith who preceded him in death. He is in heaven where he is forever healed.
Visitation 1:00 p.m. and Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn north on Lonsdale Rd.)

To the family of Marcus, you have my condolences in the loss of your loved one. Death was never God’s purpose for the human family. He put Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden (paradise), and they were to extend it, to have many children, and to fill the earth (Genesis 1:28). They were to live forever as long as they did not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad. If they did they would die (Genesis 2:15-17). Very soon, God will reverse the effects of sin by eliminating death forever and all of His promises will come true! – Isaiah 25:8
