Marlene Hunter Powell, age 66, was born on April 21, 1952 and passed away June 29, 2018.

Marlene truly loved her family and friends; especially her four-legged son, “Mercy”. She spent most of her life nurturing children and working in several preschools throughout her educational career. She earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from Capital University.

She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church until her illness made it difficult for her to attend, but she loved the Lord and went to serve him every chance she was able.

Marlene was a generous soul and treated everyone she met with kindness. We will all miss her sweet spirit, contagious laughter, and bright smile. She fought a good fight and now she is with the Lord, and all the loved ones that went before.

She is at peace, resting and healed in Jesus Precious Name. Amen.
