Martha Jean Coles was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 6, 1950 to Joseph and Mary Coles.
Martha graduated from East High School and then later attended Franklin University and was a long- time team member of Mt Carmel Health System for 45 years.
Martha was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Best Friend to many. She was known for her caring and nurturing ways. She enjoyed spending her time going fishing and traveling. Her favorite past time was spending time with her husband and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Coles; Daughters, Kimberly Coles and Kathy Coles; Grandson, Teddy McGrapth; Sisters, Dianne Coles and Catherine Parnell.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Wright; Daughter, Karen L. Coles; Sons, Johnny L and Jimmy L Wright; Granddaughters, LaCreshia Morris, Gabriella Wright and Janae Wright; Great grandchildren Le’yada Morris and Le’mar Morris: Siblings, Joseph Coles, Larry Coles, Richard Coles, Inez Poindexter, Barbara Norton, Mary Coles, Charles Coles, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other Relatives and Friends.
Private Visitation 10:00 AM and Private Funeral Service 11:00 AM Monday, August 9, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.

Aunt Martha Jean, I believe that you are in no more pain. Reunited with grandma and grandpa, my cousins Kim, Kathy, Teddy and Amanda etc, my aunts Catherine and Diane etc, all able to enjoy and be together celebrating. Going to miss hearing your voice and seeing your face but knowing that you are with heavenly loved ones makes me smile.

I am saddened to hear of Martha’s passing. I worked with her on the Clinical Informatics team and we met for lunch and kept in touch after she retired. What a lovely and kind lady, it was a privilege to know her. My condolences for your loss. She sure loved her family.

Martha was such a beautiful soul, inside and out. I enjoyed talking with her and hearing her stories. Her cooking was second to none and she loved everyone she met deeply. Jimmy and family, I am very sorry for your loss. She is among the angels, resting peacefully now.

Heaven has gained another angel Martha was one of the sweetest, most selfless people I have ever known. She loved her family to the fullest & through all that life threw at her, she championed with a smile. I will miss our nightly talks with J.L. & I, her kindness, her smile, her wisdom & our course her amazing food – but most importantly just her. Loosing her leaves a big hole on all our hearts but I find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain & is smiling down from heaven watching her family & waiting for that eternal reunion.
