Marvin James

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born and time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.

On Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio, Marvin James III earthly season ended and he entered into eternal rest.

Marvin known as “Big Nick”, was born on August 1, 1973 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Marvin James Sr. and Karen Denise James.

Marvin was the second oldest of four children. His youth years were in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from South High School in 1992 where he began his passions in Music and football. He shortly returned back home to begin his career endeavors and start a family.

On May 14, 1999, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Yolanda Monique Evans, to the union a son and daughter were born and a blended family was united, a total of five children.

Marvin attended and was a member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies where Bishop Sherman S. Watkins, nurtured and pastored over his life and spiritual growth. He was spiritually born on February 28, 1999.

He continued his musical passion and joined the High Praise Company Founded by Pastor Arthur L. Gray Jr. 1998 in Columbus OH. In continual pursuit of love for music, he aspired to start his own music company called, Kings Kids Inc. Marvin was the creator of his lyrics.

In November 2020, his life journey lead Marvin and his wife Yolanda to City of Grace under Lead Pastor, Mikey Young and Executive Pastor Richard Jones.

Striving for success, Marvin embarked into entrepreneurship and opened a car wash, Exquisite Auto Spa and Detail alongside his partner, Romell Peters in 2012. Also in 2017, Marvin and his wife started their cleaning Company called Nick and Yo Commercial Cleaning.

Marvin continued his pursuit and expanded his career in Logistics in 2020. He was a hard working and ambitious driver alongside his brother, Maurice James trucking company, Platinum Label Logistics to reach higher heights to continue to take care of his family.

Preceding him in death by his father; Marvin James Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife; Yolanda M. James, sons; Marquez James, Vidal O’Conner, and Marvin James V of Columbus, Ohio, five grandchildren; Sabastion O’ Conner, Alanni O’ Conner, Dakari James- Stewart, Legend Jame, DaKalin James- Stewart, mother; Karen James of Columbus, Ohio, 3 brothers; Stacey (Barbara) Maurice (Melinda) Marquis (Caryn) of Columbus, Ohio, mother in law; Maudie Evans of Westerville, Ohio, sister in law; April (Mark) Logan of Columbus, Ohio, and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation 9:00am and Funeral 10:00am Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St Clair Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
