Mary Kendrick was born June 21, 1949 to Wilbert and Olivia Whitson in Berry, Alabama.

As a child she moved to Kentucky then Columbus, Ohio. She attended Columbus City Schools and graduated from East High School. After graduating, she attended The Ohio State University and received an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Mary worked for the city of Columbus for 30 years before retiring. She was a devoted member of New Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Robert L. James. She remained there until the time of her passing. At New Mt. Sinai she was a part of various ministries and held her church and the fellow members dear to her heart.

Mary is preceded in death by parents, Wilbert and Olivia Whitson.

Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories, brother, Harold Whitson; children, Olivia (Howard Weldon) Whitson, Richard Kendrick, Patricia Ocansey, Donald Kendrick, and Anthony Kendrick; grandchildren, Antonio Whitson, Teria (Marcus) Hemphill, Sareina Houpe, Lynn Whitson, Lori Whitson, Maurice Fisher, MiAngel Gray, and Jace Forney-Kendrick; 13 great grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins that were more like siblings.

Private Services entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.

Sister Kendrick was so genuine and loving! She endured her health issues with such grace- never complaining and always giving God praise! Her beautiful smile and caring spirit will be missed. Our prayers go out for the family during this difficult time.
