Maya Monique Robinson

Maya Monique Robinson blessed us all with her arrival August 25, 1978. She was a fiercely loyal daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. After a lengthy battle, she peacefully entered eternal rest November 27th, 2021, at age 43.

After graduating from high school, Maya channeled her heart-to-help within the healthcare community as a phlebotomist and nursing professional. She loved her family. She prided herself as the “Favorite Auntie”, the “Big Sister”, and protector of those close to her. She could always be found with a book in her hand, had a passion for shopping, collecting crystals, traveling, and was the life of any party. Those that knew Maya best would tell you that she marched to the beat of her own drum and lived life on her terms.

Maya leaves behind children Jaymi and Jaylen Robinson; grandson, Jeremiah Robinson; parents, Willie Alexander, April Bond, Faith Alexander; grandparents, John Robinson Sr., Ella “Nan” Weldon, Charles Minter, and Reverend Luther Morris; siblings, Melvin, Erice, Nathaniel, Curtis, Diamond, Malcolm, Ashley, and Nefertari; special cousins, Caprece Henderson and LaTana Heglar; 11 nieces, 6 nephews, a goddaughter, godson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by great-grandmother, Mary Hale; grandparents, Nathaniel and Helen Alexander and Antoinette Morris; aunts, Nelly Chaffin and Frances Henderson; cousin, Ebony Christian; and best friends, Donna Daniels and Buddy.

You made a difference. You are loved. You are missed.

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them”

-Maya Angelou
