Deacon Michael J. Moorer was born November 21, 1956 to Jerry and Doris Moorer in Columbus, Ohio. He departed his earthly life on December 30, 2018 at the age of 62.

He was a deacon and senior choir member at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Michael graduated from Linden McKinley High School. He was employed by Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, Xerox and The Ohio State University. He loved helping others, cooking, singing, and making others laugh. More than anything, his wife and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He was known for his infamous saying, “God is good, all the time.”

He is preceded in death by parents Jerry Moorer and Doris Moorer-Nesbitt, and sister Rosemary Greer.

He leaves to cherish his memories; Loving wife Carolyn Davis-Moorer, siblings Brenda Moorer, Ronald Moorer, and Robert (Nina) Moorer, children Pamela “Nikki Redd”, Erika (Frank) Ford, Michael (Jamie) Redd, Michael Paschal, James Paschal, Shalonda Betts, and Rondell (Kelli) Davis, special friend Emily Talley, and also a host of grandkids, relatives, and friends.

Visitation 9:00am and Home Going Service 10:00am Saturday January 5, 2019 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 1535 Dewey Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

When Matt passed Mike found me and sit with me truly a great man ,friend & husband he loved him some Carol.
