Deacon Michael E Lanier was born February 10, 1954. He went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2022.

Mike was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. He attended Columbus Public City Schools. He attended the Urban League and graduated to be a motivational speaker. Mike Was the last living child of 7 children from Margaret Lanier & Paul Lanier, Sr. He was loving, caring, humble, and he stood strong in who he was as a person, and always kept it real. He held no punches and will let you know how he felt. He loved his son, 5 grandchildren and entire family. He was a real stand up guy always doing for family.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the nature channel, going to church, fishing and also spending time visiting his family at the cemetery. Also spending lots of time with his grandchildren who he would bend over backward for no matter the time or place nothing mattered more than the world to him but them he was that PaPa. Michael was the one to joke with, laugh with, chill with, and reminisce with. Michael went through many trials and tribulations throughout his life but the last 9 years he made it a mission to get right with God. Michael was truly blessed and highly favored to be pulled through and not counted out.

Michael gave his life to Christ in 2013 where he also continued his mother’s legacy by attending Greater Praise Missionary Baptist Church for years where he served as a Deacon of the church. Everyone enjoyed his preaching and his word of God every other Sunday, he loved his pastor and church family and would do whatever he could within his power for them. HE WAS A TRUE MAN OF GOD!
