Mother Helen Jeter, 85, transitioned to glory on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born May 8, 1934 in Carlisle, South Carolina.
On June 8, 1956, she married Major Jeter in Columbus, Ohio. A devout lover of Christ, her favorite scripture was Isiah 55:6- Seek the Lord when he can still be found; call him while he is yet near; she enjoyed fellowship, singing, and cooking, especially baking.
Survivors include daughters Lynda Jeter, Kim Jeter, Melina Jeter, and Meletha Dawson (ne’Jeter); soms Harold Broady and Kenneth Jeter; brothers Randolphus Jeter, Charlie Jeter, Tommy Lee Jeter; sister Nell Cannon (ne’ Jeter) and Virginia Whitt (ne’ Jeter); 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Jeter and Letha Jeter (an’ Booker); 4 brothers, Clarence Jeter, Earl Jeter, Willie “C” Jeter and J.T. Jeter; 2 sisters, Lois Walker (ne’ Jeter) and Anna Man Jeter; and 1 daughter, Sharon Jeter.
Visitation 10AM and Funeral Service 11AM Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at World Conqueror Through Jesus Christ Church 43223. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST.
