Alvin Maurice Johnson was born to Murphy Johnson, Sr. and Imo Jean (Winbush) Johnson on July 20, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the baby of six and affectionately known as “Batman” by his family. Alvin was a product of Columbus Public Schools and attended Eleventh Avenue Elementary, Yorktown Jr. High and Whetstone High School. Alvin was very talented and while in his woodshop class, he made his own guitar in the shape of a unicorn. He also had a love for music which included listening to George Clinton and Rick James. His family would always remind him that as a child, he would always tell them to “CUT THOSE LIGHTS OUT!!” Anyone who knew Alvin, knew he had a very gentle soul. On Saturday, March 25, 2023, Alvin’s soul was finally at rest.
He is preceded in death by parents, Murphy and Imo Jean Johnson; brother, Keith Johnson; sisters, Lisa Johnson and Linda Finch; niece, Kristian Johnson.
