In Loving Memory of Forest Obra Garrett Jr.

Forest Obra Garrett Jr, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2023, at the age of 67. Born on September 13, 1955, in Xenia, Ohio, Forest was the eldest child of Jeannette and Forest O. Garrett Sr..

Forest lived a life of simplicity and humility, finding joy in the company of his family and friends. He possessed a deep love for his family, cherishing the bond he shared with his sisters, Sarita, Melany and Didne.

Known for his friendly demeanor and gentle spirit, Forest could often be found strolling through the streets of Columbus, Ohio. He had a captivating presence, drawing people in with his warm smile and kind words. He had a profound faith in the Lord, finding solace and inspiration in reading God’s Word. He was Truley a giver. Loved to giver more than receive.

Forest had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed various outdoor activities. He was an excellent swimmer and had a natural talent for roller skating. His zest for life was evident in his ability to navigate through the ups and downs with grace. He loved music; he was known for his gifts of singing and playing the bongos.

Forest’s education journey led him to obtain a High School Diploma, after which he embarked on a career as a laborer in the warehouse industry. Through his hard work and dedication, he left a lasting impression on his colleagues, who remember him for his strong work ethic and reliability.

Forest’s memory will forever be cherished by his mother Jeannette; sisters Melany and Didne, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

On September 7, 2023, the Chapel of Peace – North 2500 Cleveland Ave., will open its doors for visitation at 1:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm, where we will gather to celebrate Forest’s journey and bid him a fond farewell.

In this time of sorrow and remembrance, let us come together to honor the life and legacy of Forest Obra Garrett Jr. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
