Lionel Jefferson, 81, passed this life Friday, December 16, 2022 at home surround by family. Lionel was born on August 27, 1941 in Flora, Mississippi to the late Dan Jefferson and Fannie Pullen. Lionel attended Senior High School in Mansfield, Ohio.

In his early adult years, Lionel won many awards racing his 1957 Chevy. His favorite pass time was fishing with his late brother Otis Jefferson. Lionel worked as a machinist for 30
years combined at Ohio Brass in Mansfield, OH and HPM in Mount Gilead, OH. Lionel was a Commercial Farmer 1975 – 2005.

Lionel was a member of Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church serving on the usher board.

In 1972, Lionel married Claudette Holmes and committed to be a father to his 3 children and Claudette’s 3 children full time.

Lionel is survived by his wife, Claudette Jefferson of
Lexington, OH; brother, Leon (Ann) Jefferson of Ontario, OH; son, Lionel (Sabrina) Jefferson Jr. of Kernersville, NC; son, Durand (Alfredia) Tyler of Anchorage, AK; son, Quincy Jefferson of Columbus, OH; daughter, Candice Moorer of Manassas, VA; daughter, Melvina Tyler of Lexington, OH; daughter, Kimberly Tyler of Yuba City, CA; son, Antwoine
Smith of Mansfield, OH; 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition, Lionel was also preceded in death by his father, Dan, his mother, Fannie, brothers, John, Dan Jr., Earnest, Edward, Roosevelt, James, Otis, Benny, Jesse; sisters, Linnie Mae, Isabelle, and Edna.

Visitation 10:00am and Memorial Service 11:00am, Wednesday December 21, 2022 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE MANSFIELD 753 McPherson St. (formerly Williams Funeral Services) Inurnment to follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
