It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Paul A. Beard, who returned to Allah on February 23, 2023. Born on November 21, 1955 in Columbus, Mississippi to Joseph Beard and Clara Beasley Beard.
As a resident of Columbus, Ohio, Paul was a devout Muslim who lived a life of service to Allah. He was a cherished son,
brother, father, grandparent, dear friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Paul was committed to his faith and community as a Muslim.
He spent his life serving others and was known for his kindness, generosity, and compassion. He was a regular attendee of Muhammad’s Mosque #43 where he volunteered his time and resources to support the Nation of Islam. Paul was also active in various charitable organizations and causes that aligned with his values and beliefs.
While committed to his faith, Paul also was a highly skilled professional. Earning his Associate Degree through the General Motors Apprentice program, he became a Journeyman Pipefitter. He would later retire from General Motors after nearly three decades, while being highly respected by his colleagues and peers.
Paul is survived by his son; Hassan Beard (Columbus, Ohio), three daughters; Kamilah Jones (Mansfield, Ohio) Nasumbi Beard (Jacksonville, Florida), and Imani Beard (Columbus, Ohio) who will miss him dearly, special daughters; Felicia (William) Lane (Maryland), Kenyada (Sean) Brice (Ohio), and Janae Harris (California).
He is survived by four sisters; Sgt. First Class (Retired) Army Dorothy Beard-Green of Kentucky. Cynthia
(Walter) Bonham, Jeannette Beard, and Jacqueline Beard all of Mansfield, Ohio, brother; Joe Beard Jr also of Mansfield, Ohio, grandson, Aasir Beard, granddaughter; Aashi Beard; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clara Beard and Joseph Beard.
We pray that Allah may grant him a place in Jannat Al-Firdous, and that he grants his family and loved ones the patience and strength to endure this difficult time.
