Edna Ceredo Johnson was born June 12, 1945, in Landgraff, WV. She was the loving daughter of the late Henry Wilson and Ceredo Cleo (Madison) Ramsey.

Edna accepted Christ at a very early age and served the Lord faithfully until the time of her death. She was a former member of Mask’s Chapel Church of God founded by Jesus Christ in Vivian, WV. While there, she sang in the young adult choir and was a member of the Gospel Gleaners.

Edna was a graduate of Kimball High School, Kimball WV. Upon graduation, she moved to Washington, D. C. and became a faithful member of Christian Tabernacle Church of God.

After a gap year, she enrolled in Bluefield State College in 1965 where she pursued an Associate’s degree in accounting and also became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (inactive). While in college she met the love of her life, Nathaniel Johnson. They were married in July 1970, a union of nearly 58 years and they were blessed with a son – Taureen Tinsley.

After their marriage, they relocated to Washington, D.C. They lived in the Tri-State area where she was employed by Unisys as an Account Specialist for 35 years. They remained in the Tri-state area until they moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2013. Upon arriving in Columbus, Edna became a member of Abounding Praise Worship Center where she sang in the senior choir. Edna was a virtuous woman who served others faithfully and often put the needs of others before her own.
The voice we know is stilled, but precious memories are everlasting. Left to cherish Edna’s memory are her husband, Nathaniel; sisters, Sara Giles and Cleopatra Smith; brother, John (Patricia) Ramsey; special cousin, Silver (Mark) Madison-Denny; 3 nephews, 4 nieces, and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

On March 25, 2023, the Lord chose a rose from His garden at OSU East and Edna Ceredo Johnson was called home by our Heavenly Father. On that day she joined her parents, grandparents, son, brother, Ramon; niece, Tanya; nephew, Turhan, and great niece Janea.

Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
