Mrs. Evelyn Doris Dorsey, was born October 8, 1939 in Weston, GA and passed away on February 23, 2022 at Ohio Health Mansfield. Evelyn was employed with White Westinghouse for over 2 decades. She was a member of The Oasis of Love Church of God in Christ and served as a member on The Mothers Board. She and her husband Edison married in Preston, GA over 60 years ago and relocated to Mansfield, OH in 1959. Together they are the proud parents of six children, Adolphus, Yvonia, Gregory, Beverly, Angala and Stacey. Evelyn has 17 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
Evelyn was also a homemaker and the pride and joy of her heart was caring after her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, hairstyling, and taking walks in the neighborhood.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, mother, Arvesta Garrett Barr and father, Clifford Reliford; daughter, Beverly O. Dorsey and sister Joyce Brown. Along with her husband and five children.
Evelyn is survived by her brother Rudolph Garrett of Columbus, GA; sister, Poly Garrett Flippins of Louisville, KY; sister in law, Alfreda Dorsey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation 10:00am and Home Going Service 11:00am Tuesday March 1, 2022 at The Oasis of Love 190 Chester Ave.
Interment at Mansfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Evelyn Dorsey’s name to The American Diabetes Association Mansfield.

Aunt Evelyn you truly exemplified the best qualities and/or attributes that were genuine and authentic that I felt and truly experienced everytime I was in your presence. You kept it real and did not pretend or sugar coat the truth or reality. This is what I will always remember about you, when you and I had our one on one conversations whenever you visited Albany, GA.
