On July 13, 1930, the world received a precious jewel, Ida Mae Wright. She was one of ten children born to the union of the late John Burr and Mary Ruth Wright. On Thursday, May 16, 2019, First Lady lda Mae (Wright) Mullins entered into her eternal peaceful rest at the Kobacker House. “As God called, she answered with a Yes Lord!”

“I have fought a good fight I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up For me a crown of righteousness. “
II Timothy 4:7-8

First Lady lda Mae Mullins was a devoted wife to her husband, Rev. Vurn O. Mullins and a loving mother to their only child, Paulette. She spoiled both daughter and husband. Their sixty-nine years of marriage and love for each other was a testimony of their love for God. She accompanied Rev. Mullins as he journeyed to spread the Gospel as Pastor to congregations in Urbancrest, Mt. Vernon, Yellow Springs and Springfield, Ohio, and in Huntington, WV. In her spiritual walk with Christ, First Lady Mullins, served faithfully on numerous church ministries and community committees where she often coordinated the programs. Her love and helpfulness for all ages, families and friends was paramount in her life’s work. Her words of encouragement will forever be etched in the hearts of many. First Lady lda Mullins believed in fasting and praying. She knew God would always give her the strength to endure all life’s obstacles. She vehemently prayed for her entire family.

She is preceded in death by parents: John Burr and Mary Wright, husband: Rev. Vurn O. Mullins, daughter, Paulette Gentry, brothers: John, Matthew and James Wright, sisters: Rosie Williamson, Sarah Byers, Beatrice Smith, Loretta Lewis, and Mary Dillard.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her love, her devoted Son-in Law, John R. Gentry, her beloved Grandson, Diallo (Tamra) Gentry, of Elgin, IL., sister, Norma Jean Evans, church family members of Mt. ion Baptist Church, Springfield, Ohio, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Union Baptist Church, Urbancrest, Ohio, Calvary Baptist Church, Huntington, wV., First Baptist Church, Yellow Springs, Ohio, St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many relatives, and friends.

To the Mullins family. My heart is with you and your family at this time of your loss. There is comfort in knowing God’s promises about the resurrection hope. (Acts 24:15) and (John 5:28,29) In the past God has resurrected humans and He is eager to do it again because He hates death. (Mark 5:41-43) It is not God’s purpose originally for mankind to grow old, get sick and die. To learn more about God’s promises go to JW.ORG. There are online Bible study lessons featured and more.

A true angel departed with the passing of this beautiful soul. I have known Mrs. Mullins for the last 10 to 15 years and she was one of the most quality individuals I have ever met. I know she was met with open arms by God and family.
