While residing in Warren, Ossie was employed by United Telephone Company, Sajar Plastics and various companies where she held several positions. She relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2005 to explore new opportunities where she became a Transportation Specialist at Hertz Car Rental. In 2016 upon retirement, she returned home to Warren, Ohio to be the instrumental care giver for her sister Vivian. She enjoyed attending jazz in the park events and concerts at the amphitheater. Her interests included cooking, crocheting, visiting casinos, traveling, and spending quality time with her family were also her passions. She was also an active member of The Silver Sneakers Club, where she enjoyed exercising and Zumba.

Ossie was preceded in death by her parents; father Coleman Gilliam Jr, and mother Ossie O Gilliam One Son; Aaron Dixon. Three brothers; Coleman Gilliam III, William Gilliam and James Gilliam. Four sisters; Sandra Hunter, Shirley Gilliam, Helen Gilliam, and Vivian Dixon.

She will be missed by daughter; Jennifer Dixon-Cunningham, sons; Stanley Dixon Jr. (Kizzy) and William Dixon (Marlene). Siblings; Lawrence Gilliam (Geraldine aka Kay) Mary Rush (Jimmy) Patricia Gilliam, and Twila Gilliam. Grandchildren; Chadwick Dixon, Vanessa Gilliam, Jenelle Dixon, William Tarrell Dixon, Tanesha Dixon (Jada), Tevon Drake, Tiana Dixon, Jalen Dixon, and Kylan Dixon. Great grandchildren; Anthony Dixon, Andra Dixon, Ariana Dixon, Matias Dixon, Za’Maya Savage, Elijah Dixon, and Jalen Dixon Jr. Great-great grandson; Kai Dixon. God daughters; Sher-ree Glover and Markella Cunningham.

She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends along with all her “Bonus Children”, especially those from “The Wood”.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Feb 4, 2023 at 12:00pm at TCAP 1230 Palmyra Rd, SW, Warren Ohio 44485. We invite you to join in the Celebration of Life, for Ossie Dixon by wearing a shade of purple in her honor.

Arrangements of comfort were handled by The Marlan Gary Funeral Home Chapel of Peace, Columbus, Ohio.
