Lasonya M. Gailes-Teague was born July 6, 1972, in Greenville, MS. She entered into eternal rest on February 1, 2023 in Columbus, OH, with her loving children by her side.

Lasonya, affectionately known to her family and friends as “Sonya”, was a woman who wore many hats. She loved her family and had a special way with children, which eventually inspired her to become an entrepreneur. She successfully ran her own childcare business for several years.

Lasonya had a variety of interests including but definitely not limited to traveling, fishing, and of course singing, dancing and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Rosie Gailes, grandmother; Annie B. Davis, and her beautiful baby girl; Oddessie Teague.

Lasonya leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Corey, Cassandra, and Odeajah, granddaughters; Jenesis and Jordyn Shaw, and grandson; Amir Burt, to carry on her legacy.

Lasonya will be sadly missed and will forever hold a place in all our hearts.
