Nina Wilson

Nina Lee Wilson was born March 02, 1953, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi to the late Mack Earl Sanders Sr. and Lee Etta Sanders. Nina Wilson is the maternal granddaughter of the late John and Gretha Jones. Nina Wilson is the paternal granddaughter of the late Nina Smiley Shannon and Mack Neice Sanders Sr.

Nina Wilson moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1960 with her mother; Lee Etta Sanders and siblings Mack Earl Sanders Jr, Eddrest Lenetus Morton, Barbara Ann Jones, Laverne Jones, Carolyn Ann Davis.

Nina Wilson was a graduate of South High School. She continued her education at Columbus State Community College, Central State University and graduated from Park University.

Nina Wilson began her employment serving the community at Ohio State University Hospital. Nina Wilson retired from Franklin County Job and Family Services as a Case Management Supervisor for thirty plus years serving the community until retirement.

Nina Wilson was a foster parent for over 30 years and was currently parenting Justin (Charlie) Prak. She provided a loving home for many children.

Nina enjoyed road trips, family gatherings and her special time at her special places and developed many friends along the way.

Nina Wilson married Lanny Robert Wilson Sr, to that union, two children were born, Lana Lenise Wilson and Lanny Robert Wilson Jr.

Nina Wilson accepted Christ at an early age in Lake Providence, Louisiana. After moving to Columbus, Ohio she attended Zion Hill Baptist Church, World Harvest Church, Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church and continued her Christian journey at Christian Valley Baptist Church under Pastor Fitzgerald.

Nina Wilson was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Nina was blessed with four granddaughters: Kelly Sparks, Kennedy Sparks, Kennis Sparks, London Wilson and two grandsons Elisjsha Freeman and Keith Preston.

Nina Wilson is preceded in death by her husband Lanny Robert Wilson Sr, Daughter Lana Lenise Sparks, Parents Mack Earl Sanders Sr and Lee Etta Sanders, Grandparents John Jones, and Gretha Jones, Nina Smiley Shannon and Mack Neice Sanders Sr, Sister Barbara Ann Sanders and Patricia Ann Sanders.

Nina Lee Wilson was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; Son Lanny Robert Wilson Jr. (Arlene)., Grandchildren Kelly Sparks, Kennedy Sparks, Kennis Sparks, London Wilson, Elisjsha Freeman and Keith Preston, Son-in-law Dennis Sparks,  Brother Mack Earl Sanders Jr, Sisters, Eddrest Lenetus (Mark) Morton, Laverne Jones, Carolyn Davis and April (Vernon) Willis.

Uncles, Claude (Theresa) Jones, Charles (Yvonne) Jones.

Aunts, Claire Thigpen, Eva Welch, Martha Black and Wilma Bradley. Special niece Tiffany (Reginald) Talley.

Special cousins Karen Jones (Debbie), Frankie Jones, sister-in-law Tina Miller and special friend Kim Carter.

A host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews;  friends, and the extended circle of friends at her special places.

Though we will certainly miss her physical presence, we somehow find comfort in many beautiful memories shared.
