Noel Dunlap, was born June 23rd, 1968 in Detroit, Michigan to Ronald Cummings and Lillie Dunlap. He transitioned from this life on April 19th, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 53.

Noel was the firstborn child to his Mother, and the firstborn grandchild to his Grandparents. Noel’s hobbies included listening to music, watching classic movies, and sharing his passion of story telling with all who would listen. Noel always had a listening ear and a helping hand and knew no stranger. Noel loved his family and above all he loved his mother.

Noel had a passion for helping people, his family members and friends have experienced his love and concern for their well-being constantly. Because of his love for people, Noel wanted to become a minister. Even though he didn’t receive the traditional acknowledgement and ordination as a minister, on a daily basis he ministered to all who knew him. In spite of the physical challenges Noel faced everyday, he still took the time to consider the well-being of others.

In his youth, Noel enjoyed playing tennis with his mother and was looking forward to the day when he could get back out on the court with her. His all time favorite gospel artist was The Winans.

Noel is preceded in death by his Father Ronald Cummings (Detroit, MI), Grandfather Jesse Dunlap (Detroit, MI), and Grandmother Willie Mae Dunlap (Detroit, MI).

Noel is survived by his mother, Lillie Dunlap (Columbus, OH), and brothers: Ronald (Moreno Valley, CA), Eric (Columbus, OH), and Daryl (Columbus, OH).

His services have been entrusted to Marlan Gary Funeral Home, surrounded by the family and friends he so dearly loved on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022. Visitation is between the hours of 1:00pm – 2:00pm, with the Funeral Service immediately following, beginning promptly at 2:00pm

My Condolences to your family. Noel will be forever missed. Working with Noel as his Home Health Aid was fun. Once we got to share stories about family and friends, that lighten up his world. We talk about music and movies. He always played my favorite oldies blues, jazz and love songs of the 70 or 80’s. Talking about food and recipes was another highlight of the day. Noel I know you looking down on your family and friends especially your mom. Rest well my friend.
