Norwood Meredith Faison aka “Steve”. A caring partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, departed this life on August 1, 2021 at the age of 75.

Steve was born to Annie Faison on December 1, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia. After high school, Steve enlisted in the U.S Air Force where he served his country proudly for four years before an honorable discharge in 1967. After leaving the U.S. Air Force, Steve moved to Columbus, Ohio. During his early years in Columbus, he met the beautiful Doris Palmer and although never married they were together for many years raising the family.Together they had two children, Andre Palmer and Kalin Palmer who joined their     older siblings Sister: Donna Griffin and Brothers: Anthony, Donald and Rodney Palmer. Steve was a tough but loving Father and proud Grandfather.

Steve was employed with Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC) where he worked for two decades before retiring. He was a music lover. He cherished his record player and albums more than anything. He     enjoyed artists like “Little Anthony,” and “Jackie Wilson,” and “Al Green,” among others. He was an exceptional bowler spending time perfecting his craft. Steve also took pride in cars he owned and could make any repairs needed to maintain them. Many weekends were spent working on his car and frequent    fanily get togethers. Steve never met a stranger. He had a warm distinctive voice, contagious laugh and was well respected in the Lincoln Park community. Steve was selfless and no matter his state, Steve “Never” let a birthday or major holiday pass without sending the many cards of celebration to relatives especially children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Partner: Doris Jean Palmer, Mother: Annie Faison, Brothers: Levi Faison  and Rosco Faison; Sister: Katie White and Daughter: Donna Jean Griffin.

Steve is survived by his devoted Children: Andre Palmer (Erica), Kalin Palmer (Ira III), Anthony Palmer (Shenice), Donald Palmer (Mary), Rodney Palmer (Lisa); granddaughters: Tierra, Karlesha, Kelsey, Navia and Kaiya: grandsons: Anthony, Anureis, Nikita, Devin, Desmond, Dondre, Ira IV and Brice; Sisters: Daisy Williams and Bertha Joshua; Many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Steve confirmed his love for Christ and was comforted in his favorite bible verse from Psalm 23:1-3. Steve  often said, “Love is the only way”.
