Novell Lee Thornton

Novell Lee Waddy Thornton, age 69 was born on March 10, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to John Waddy Sr. and Marilyn Middlebrooks. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2019.
Novell is preceded in death by his parents, his loving daughter Chrislane O’Neal and precious grandchildren Kassius Thornton, Rayshawn Thornton and Kalia Jones.
Novell was one of a kind with the biggest heart. He loved his children, grandchildren, family and football. He was a huge Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeye fan. He was a former member of the Masonic Temple and enjoyed playing pool, horse racing, playing the numbers, playing cards, and cooking.
He leaves to cherish his memories; wife Sandra Thornton; children, Tosha C. Regina Thornton, Damian (Ronnett) Thornton Sr., Novell DeMario Thornton, Novell Thornton, Dejuan Groce, Tiffany Groce and David O’Neal; brothers, Gerald Jefferson, John (Denise) Waddy and Dearl Adams; sisters, Constance (Charles) Baxter, Mona Lisa (Kim) Webb, Kim Skaggs, and Aubrey Love; brother in law, James Scott; sisters in law, Beverly Chambers, Carol Scott, and Leola Scott; 25 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; special friend Sylvia Groce; special cousins, Wilbur Thornton and Oletha Thornton as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Friday January 25, 2019 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
