Adele “ Dellie “ Jackson
Adele Linette Jackson also affectionately and lovingly known as Dellie / Auntie Dell was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Joe H. Jackson Jr. and Lois J. Jackson on September 22, 1971. Adele went from labor to reward on July 10, 2026.
Adele attended Eastmoor High School, where she graduated in the top third of the Class of 1989. She also graduated from NorthEast Career Center as a Legal Secretary and excelled in this profession for over 30 years. Adele’s first position was with Loveland & Brosius Law Firm. She later worked in corporate law for Judith McKintire and completed her labor as a Litigation Specialist for Carlile Patchen & Murphy, Attorneys at Law.
Adele’s spiritual journey began at Eliezer Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop Sandy Dunlap. She continued her spiritual walk and service at Bethel Temple Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop Dane Clark. After years of faithful service, Adele transitioned her membership to Faith Tabernacle Church under the leadership of her brother‑in‑law, Dr. Paul Murray‑Davis. She served as the Director of the C.A.R.E. Ministry and over the (Right Now) Usher Board. Adele also served her sister, First Lady Toni, as her armor bearer. As the church’s event planner, her exceptional eye for detail elevated every assignment she touched.
Adele loved to travel, enjoyed good food, cherished the beach, and adored music. Dellie was always singing and asking for the mic—“Put her in the key of G.” Most of all, Adele loved her family. She had a special affinity for her nieces, nephews, and godchildren, and she treasured spending time with them, especially during the holidays.
Adele had a larger‑than‑life personality, and her gift of laughter was truly infectious. She was a dedicated godmother and a special auntie to many.
Adele is preceded in death by her mother, Lois J. Jackson; paternal grandparents, Joe H. Jackson Sr. and Mildred E. Jackson; maternal grandparents, Leroy Gaither and Ellen Mary Alice Gaither Sheets; Aunt Barbara and Uncle Harold Rose; Aunt Vivian and Uncle Rayfield Tyus; Aunts Beverly, Deborah, Ruby, and Priscilla; Uncles Herman and Michael Gaither; and godmother Shirlene Smith.
