Alex McEntire was born on February 19, 1969, to Alexander McEntire Jr. and Cleopatria McEntire (Richardson). Alex was surrounded throughout his life by a large and loving family and many cherished friends.
Alex attended Eastmoor High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1987. He later continued his education at Columbus State Community College.
Alex honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. During his military career, he was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and served in Panama, Germany, and South Carolina. His military service was an important part of his life and reflected his commitment, dedication, and service to his country.
Alex was married to his loving wife, Shawntaa McEntire, for 13 years. He was the proud father of Courtney McEntire, Jaylen Hullum, Alexis McEntire, Donavan McEntire, and his beloved daughter, Tierra McEntire, who preceded him in death. He was also a loving grandfather to Ski’, Chi‘, and Baileigh.
In his free time, Alex enjoyed watching sports, spending time with his family, swimming, going to the casino, and simply relaxing at home. Whether enjoying the excitement of a game, sharing time and laughter with those he loved, or finding comfort in the peace of home, Alex valued the moments that brought him happiness and kept him close to family and friends.
Alex leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 13 years, Shawntaa McEntire; his children, Courtney McEntire, Jaylen Hullum, Alexis McEntire, and Donavan McEntire; his grandchildren, Ski’ Hullum, Chi’ Hullum, and Baileigh Hullum; his mother, Cleopatria McEntire (Richardson), and stepfather, Gerald Richardson; his stepmother, Jean McEntire; his sister, Tonya Skinner (McEntire), and brother-in-law, JL Skinner; along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
Alex was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Tierra McEntire; his father, Alexander McEntire Jr.; his paternal grandfather, Alexander McEntire Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Lucille McEntire; his maternal grandfather, Charlie Campbell; and his maternal grandmother, Mattie Campbell.
The memories Alex created and the relationships he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, family members, and friends.
Although Alex will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a lasting source of love and remembrance for all who knew and loved him.
