Alonzo Carl Glover

Alonzo Carl Glover entered this life on December 9, 1950 to the late John and Virginia Glover in Cleveland Ohio. To this union there were 10 children born, where he was number 9 of the crew. He entered into eternal rest on Friday April 4, 2025.

Alonzo was taught his early education in the Cuyahoga Public School system and did some college at DeVry Technical Institute. He was a VietnamVeteran of The United States Army.  Alonzo was employed by The United States Postal Service, DCSC, and Columbus City School Systems until his retirement in 2004. He was a faithful member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served on the Security Ministry and as the only male in the Sweetie’s Book Club.

Alonzo was united into holy matrimony to the former Bridgett Payton November 20, 1973, and of this union 3 daughters were born who were the loves of his life. Alonzo enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hosting epic family events, fishing, playing pool, reading various genres of books, and cheering on his beloved Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers: David and John Glover, Sisters: Marion Wells, Virginia Fortson, Thelma Matthews, Johnnie Mae Glover, Amy Perry, Lucille Glover, Granddaughter Destiny Glover, Great-Granddaughter Zaria Middleton. 

Left to cherish his memory, Wife of 52 years: Bridgett Glover; Daughters: Natasha Glover, Candice (Michael) Anderson, and Alicia (Patrick) Henderson; Furry Son: Casper Glover; Sister: Essie (Morris) O’Neal; Grandchildren: Cierra Hunter, Sherman Glover, Jazzmine Mabra-Davis, DáMiere Glover, Kendle Sealey Jr., Kiauna Sealey, Mykhaela Anderson and Payton Henderson; Great-Grandchildren: Sanaa Glover, Zayden Hunter, Saleah Glover, Ziere Jennings, and SáKari Glover; Special Nephew: Daniel Hayes; Former Son-in-law: John Hunter; Brother-in-law’s: Johnny Perry and Anthony Payton; Sister-in-law’s: Norma Jean Glover, Jacqueline Smith and Judy Glover and a host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
