Anita Taylor

March 20, 1960 — August 2, 2025

Anita Lane Taylor was born on March 20, 1960, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Barbara and Andrew Lane, who both survive her. She was the beloved sister of Garcia Lane, Barbara Lindsey, and Jeanette Jarmon, and the proud and loving mother of her son, Bryant Lane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Taylor.

A 1978 graduate of South High School (Warriors), Anita excelled academically, graduating as salutatorian. She went on to attend Youngstown State University part-time before transferring to The Ohio State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Professions, specializing in nuclear medicine and Radiology. After graduation, she began her career at Nationwide Children's Hospital, where she faithfully served for over 25 years as an X-ray technician.

Anita's dedication to helping others extended beyond her healthcare career. She worked as a substitute teacher for Columbus City Schools for six years, tutored students for over 15 years, and was known for her patience, encouragement, and ability to inspire those she taught.

She also knew how to enjoy life. Anita was part of a bowling league for 15 years, loved gathering with family, and was famous for hosting events at her home. She was a regular at the casino and one of the rare few who could honestly say she left with more money than she brought. She loved her slots and loved winning even more. She loved big but was known for being a little tight with her money, which only added to her charm. And anyone who knew her will never forget her joyous laugh, the kind that could fill a room and make you smile instantly.

Anita's life was enriched by her many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends Josephine Williams, Nimiksha Patel, Kendra Jones, and Ethel Johnson. She will be remembered for her quick wit, generosity of spirit, love of family, and the countless memories she created for all who knew her.
