Barbara J. (Jones) Easley

Barbara J. “BJ” Jones Easley, age 86, of Columbus, Ohio, transitioned peacefully into God’s loving arms on May 12, 2026, surrounded by the presence of the Holy Spirit and the love of her family. She was born on March 30, 1940, in Thomaston, Georgia, to the late Anthony and Bessie Mae Jones.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved sons, Juan Easley and Jeffrey Easley; her sisters, Ruth Ester (John) Owens and Doris Aimery; and her brothers, Fred Douglas (Evelyn) Jones, Milton Jones, and Benjamin Jones.

Barbara was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend to many. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her children, James “Sluggo” Easley, Yvonne Easley, Charlene Easley, Darlene Easley, and Joel (Shawn) Easley; her brother, Ralph Ridley; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. She also leaves behind many Home Health Aides and nurses who became like family through the years.

Barbara attended East High School and received her diploma as a Nurses Aide. She later became employed with the CDC (State of Ohio), where she faithfully worked for nearly 30 years. She was a devoted member of Columbus Christian Church and a woman of strong faith.

Barbara enjoyed sewing beautiful clothing, crocheting, collecting Barbie dolls, and shopping — something she truly loved and had a special talent for. Her warm spirit, sense of humor, kindness, and love for family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
