Barbara Ann Larkin age 79 of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Beckley, West Virginia, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 28, 2026.
She was born on February 7, 1946, to Alexander and Mary Larkin. Barabara attended Stratton High School and then moved to Cleveland Ohio. She later returned home to Beckley and pursued her passion for cooking where she held several positions as a head cook. Barbara loved the lord, and after accepting Christ into her life she joined the Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Nelson Staples Sr. She was a member of the Senior Choir, and the kitchen committee, and later became the head cook at the newly opened Mount Zion Daycare Center and had a true passion for the children. Barbara was always willing to lend a helping hand, making sure you were fed, not only with good food, but with so much love! That passion continued with her doing in home daycare and braiding hair which her styles were second to none. From Mills Avenue to Smoot Avenue, she never stopped loving and caring, and enjoyed and loved the many home visits she received while there.
In the final years of life, she was the happiest when she moved to Columbus Ohio to be surrounded her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father: Alexander Larkin; and her mother: Mary Larkin; Brothers: June Larkin, Paul Larkin, Bobby Larkin, Alphonso Larkin, Johnny Larkin, Robert Larkin and Edward Larkin; Sisters: Ruby Larkin Biggers, Josephine Larkin, and Dorothy Larkin.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her Children: Vincent Larkin of Beckley West Virginia, Mark Larkin of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Corey Larkin of Charleston West Virginia; and her daughters: Rozolette Robinson and Latoya Larkin Finch along with her husband Micah, all of Columbus Ohio and her last surviving Sister: Rosemary Larkin of Chicago, Illinois. Barbara also leaves a legacy of love in her Grandchildren: Vercell, Michelle, Barbara, Nakia, Wakirah, Laterra, Twins Tyra and Tyiece, and Anesia; 26 Great-Grandchildren who were each a special blessing to her. Her presence will be deeply missed by a host of Nieces, Nephews, special care giver Tina Tunstalle, her Dear Friends: Mary Gray and Rhonda Martin and Family as well as a community of friends and neighbors she touched throughout her life.
To know her was to love her, and her light will continue to shine through the family she so dearly loved.
