Beatrice Louise Trent

July 18, 1936 — February 25, 2026

Beatrice Louise Trent, affectionately known as Bea or BB was born on July 18, 1936, to the parents of James Kee, Sr. and Easter Kee in Birmingham, Alabama. Both her parents passed away when Bea was about 8 years old. Soon after, she relocated to Columbus, OH and was raised by her elder sister Della (Reese) Marbury and was educated in Columbus City Schools.

In 1953, Reverend M.B. Myers united Karl Sr. and Bea in holy matrimony. To this union 3 children were born Janice, Karl, and Dexter.

Bea was employed through Ohio State University Campus until her retirement. Bea and her brother Reverend Napoleon Kee were reared to believe that faith in God was the foundation of the family unit. By the profession of her own faith, she later connected with the Mount Hermon Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Donald J. Washington. Bea was a faithful member while she was able to attend.

One of Bea's passions was planning bus trips. It was more than a trip; it was an experience! Especially when barbecue ribs were a part of the menu! Bea had great love for her family, One of Bea's favorite times of year was attending the Kee-Prince family reunion. She was so excited about getting together with the family she started 10 months in advance calling every family member asking when the family reunion was and who can she catch a ride with!

She also adored her nieces and nephews. Sometimes when she saw you, she would be so excited and loudly say; "Hey or Hey Dere". She was quick- witted and could make you laugh without even trying. Bea loved candy and always had some to share. Whether it was a graduation, a wedding, or birthday celebration she was always sure to attend, with a card in hand!

On Wednesday February 25, 2026 at St. Ann Hospital, surrounded by daughter and nieces, Bea quietly made her transition and is now resting in the arms of our God.

Bea is preceded in death by her parents: James and Easter Kee; son: Karl Trent; grandchildren: Ricky and Nadia; sisters: Arlene (Charles) Jones, Mell Lee McGhee, Dora Mae Whitlow, Dorothy Johnson, Della (Reese) Marbury and Matilda Atkins; brothers: Isaiah Kee, Adam Kee Sr., James (Johnnie Mae) Kee Sr. and Rev.
