Berry (Buddy) Hunter was born on October 22, 1929, to Tom Hunter Sr. and Elsie (Martin) Hunter in Faunsdale, Marengo County, Alabama.
In the mid-1940s, Berry moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he met and married Rosalie Whittaker. From this union, they were blessed with five children.
Berry will be remembered as a gentle and hardworking man who was always ready to lend a helping hand and share his wisdom with those who needed it. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family dearly.
For many years, Berry worked in the construction industry, becoming a true jack of all trades. His favorite hobby was working on cars, and he had a passion for traveling. He often took his family on road trips to different cities around the country, creating lasting memories together.
Berry passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Sr. and Elsie Hunter; his beloved wife, Rosalie Hunter; brothers Luke Hunter, Willie Hunter, Tom Hunter Jr., and John (Dean) Hunter; sisters Mary Starks, Delilah McCray, Mallisa Thouchstone, and Alberta Hunter; and two children, Orlandis (Junebug) Hunter and Jeffery Hunter.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother David Hunter; children David Hunter, Rosiemay White, and Carrie Hunter; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
