Berta M. Joseph

October 13, 1966 — March 30, 2026

Berta Joseph, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 30, 2026. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and selfless service to others.

Born on October 13, 1966, in Petit-Goâve, Haiti, in the locality of Twouchouchou, Berta was the youngest of six children. Though she grew up without her father, God placed people in her life to guide and support her. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age, a decision that shaped her life and character.

In 1991, Berta moved to the United States, where she began a new chapter while remaining deeply connected to her roots in Haiti. She had a strong belief in education and a passion for the healthcare field, working faithfully as a nurse for many years. Through her work, she provided care, comfort, and dignity to countless individuals.

Berta was known for her generous heart and her ability to love deeply. She had a special gift for caring for others, often putting their needs before her own. She believed that no one around her should go without help or compassion. She loved life and found joy in serving others.

She was a devoted member of Philadelphie Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she served faithfully and remained actively involved in her community. Above all, Berta was a loving and devoted wife to Ronald Joseph; a caring mother to Guiriana Menier- Martineau, David Menier, and Adriana Domingue and a proud grandmother who cherished her grandchildren: Keilani Deanna Menier-Petitde, King David Eugene Menier, Ariyah Monaee Thompson, Kamari Dhiyara Menier, Brielle Rose Jean, Cutchini Lovensky Nepius Louis, Janaika Menier, Kenjyna Polynice, and Nehemie Saphire Leon.

She was preceded in death by her father: Leriche Louis; her mother: Sylviana Jean; her sisters: Violette Louis and Mercivierge Louis; and her brothers: Ones Louis and Saint-Ange Forest.

She leaves to cherish her memory her Sisters: Bernadette Anilus and Marie Lucie Colimon; her Sister-in-Law: Rosemarie Medeus Forest; her Children, Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives, and friends.

Berta Joseph will be remembered as a pillar in her community—a compassionate caregiver, a devoted servant of God, and a source of comfort and strength to many. Her legacy of love and generosity will live on in all who knew her.
