Betty Parker-Wooten

September 1, 1935 — November 18, 2025

Mother Betty Parker-Wooten was born September 1, 1935 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Walter and Evaline (Force) Thomas. She departed this life to be with the Lord on November 18, 2025 at Crown Point Nursing Care Facility.

Betty was a graduate of East High School and attended Grant Nursing School and graduated with her LPN degree with honors. After many years working as an LPN, she went on to explore and excel in several other positions across the health care arena. She retired from Grant Hospital after 35 years of service.

Mother Parker-Wooten loved the lord and her church. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. L.H. Johnson. She later became the children's choir director at Christ Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She served in several ministries which included Deaconess Board Chair, Sanctuary Choir, Celestial Choir, Willing Workers, and the Thespian Guild.

Mother Wooten loved her family, traveling, shopping, and going out to eat. She will forever be remembered for her cute little laugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Evaline (Force) Thomas. Husband Cleveland Parker of 47 years and husband Charles Wooten of six years. Grandson Roderick Moon, II and brother-in-law Francis Green.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted daughter Cheri (Dexter) Josey; grandson Kareem (Andrea) Josey; two great grandchildren, Finley and Easton Josey; Sister Joan Green; Niece, Monee (Larry) Smith, Nephew Rafi (Kay) Ahmad; two great nephews; Michael Smith and Quan Davis; Special friends; Mother Maxine Raymore, Deaconess Marcia Robinson and Ms. Sharon Allen, god children and friends.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
