Brandon Eugene Russell, 39, affectionately known as B-Russ, Russ, Bran, and B, was born on Wednesday, April 16, 1986, in Columbus, Ohio.
Brandon is survived by his loving parents, Columbus and Cynthia Russell; his sister, NaTasha Antoinette Russell; and his brother, Timothy Alexander Russell. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Emanuel Russell Sr. and Archer Ransom; his grandmother, Daisy Evonne Jones; and his aunt, Janis Denise Hamilton, and Godmother Karen Tucker.
The adventurous and compassionate middle child, Brandon, was known for his generosity, humor, and fearless heart. He attended Devonshire Elementary, Mifflin Middle School, and Northland High School, where he played elite basketball and formed lifelong friendships.
Brandon was a natural problem solver and giver, always willing to help and famously saying, “Get what you want.” His infectious laugh, love for music, spades, and legendary grilling made every gathering unforgettable. A protector and provider, Brandon consistently puts family and friends before himself.
A true traveler at heart, Brandon explored all 50 states and many countries, cherishing California and his international adventures. Among his most meaningful journeys was his time spent in Bangladesh, an experience that reflected his curiosity, open heart, and love for culture.
Above all, Brandon was a devoted and loving father to his son, Brandon Jr. (BJ), and bonus daughter Jazlynn, whom he shared with special friend Brittany Norlund. Brandon Jr. will proudly carry on his father’s name and legacy.
Brandon leaves to cherish his memory his beloved cousins Quan Hamilton and Christina Scott, Jamarr Owens, and Joshua Owens. Nieces Melia, Melari, Brandi, Kai’Dyn, Tina, Jade, and Gabby. Nephews Melik, Antoine Eugene, Braylon, Jayden, and Jaxson, and his heavenly angel nephews TJ and Melquan. Special Aunts, Patricia Blackman, Tanya Russell, Tyra Banks, and Ernestine Russell.
