Britian Jaquin Oates was born August 9, 2009 to Brandi J. Oates in Columbus, Ohio. On May 10, 2026 he went to be with his heavenly father at the young age of 16.
Britian grew up in Columbus and attended Odela online High School. He was a proud and dedicated member of the ROTC program. Britian loved serving people and people loved Britian. He was a gifted young man and he had a passion for cooking fine and elegant cuisine,
Britian gave his life to the Lord at a young age and witnessed to people about Jesus Christ. He loved gospel music of all kinds and he loved to play the electric guitar. He was also a wiz at gaming programs . He was also a baby brother to his sister Breajon and loved his mother , and sister with all of his heart. He was a big brother to his dogs and his siblings, Navy Lee, Precious Maye, Joel and Baby Leo. His digs were a big part of his life.
Britian is preceded in death by his grandparents, grandfathers , Eddie Lee Oates and Otis Dewitt Jones and great grand-mother Laura Sue Funderburke.
Although Britian JaQuin Oates has been called home, he leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Brandi J. Oates; his sister, Bre'Jon J. Oates; his grandmother, Gina Jones-Blanton, and grandfather, Bryan A. Blanton; his aunt, Shamika S. Funderburke; his cousins, Raiijah C. Adams and Alexus S. Adams; his uncle, Brandon J. Oates; his cousins, Brixton J. Oates and Tanzly N. Oates; his great aunts, Adele (Ginger) V. Gowens and Tamara L. Funderburke; his great uncle, Lawrence D. Funderburke; his great-aunt, Iris Wilson; his cousins, Yvette James, Ricardo White, Felicia Eleby, Tavaris Jackson, Amber Gowens, Garrison Gowens, Ciarra Funderburke, Dwayne Funderburke, Nyah Funderburke, and Lawrence (Elijah) Funderburke; and a host of other cousins, family, and friends — each one a keeper of his memory and a continuation of his spirit.
A special acknowledgement is extended to Pam King, Andrea (Drea) Norman, and Michelle Funderburke, whose love and presence have meant so much to this family.
